Our Vision Envisioning a world where young people take the lead as active participants in decision-making and driving change at all levels of development and policymaking; enabling quicker responses and fostering effective transformation. Our core vision is to strengthen partnerships—both locally and internationally—in sustainable development initiatives aimed at poverty alleviation.
Our Mission Youth for Transparency International’s (YTI) mission is to empower emerging leaders for positive development by fostering collaboration with youth groups, individuals, organizations, and initiatives. We are committed to developing local capacities and potentials through inclusive, sustainable development goals that are transparent and accountable, building trust and legitimacy in the process.
YTI designs and implements educational, interactive, and capacity-building programs aimed at nurturing the abilities and potential of all young people. We promote social inclusion, encourage active citizenship, and cultivate awareness in young people about their rights and responsibilities to the broader community.
Our Founder Theodore (Teddy) Ogbonna faced tremendous challenges, having been orphaned at the age of seven and enduring traumatic experiences exacerbated by self-inflicted poverty. Despite the odds stacked against him, Theodore drew inspiration from his circumstances and the environmental and social challenges in the Niger Delta region. His experiences motivated him to address societal ills through exhibitions, impactful works, and activism for human, youth, and environmental rights. Determined to create his own career and follow his dreams, Theodore's journey embodies the spirit of resilience and change that YTI seeks to inspire in young people worldwide.
